Various Processing Techniques
Processing techniques in the printing sector are diverse, and each has its unique characteristics, advantages, and specific applications. Below are some techniques that Matteiplast uses to fulfill customer requests.
The choice of technique depends on the specific project requirements, such as print run, type of substrate, and desired effects.
Processing Techniques in Detail
Flexography
Flexography, also known as flexographic printing, is a direct printing technique that uses rubber plates to transfer ink directly onto the substrate to be printed. This technique is particularly suitable for large print runs and offers an excellent quality-price ratio. Flexography can be used with up to 10 solid colors or in four-color process, especially with high-definition digital printing systems, which significantly improve graphic quality while reducing costs and production times.
Offset Printing
Offset printing is an indirect technique that transfers ink from an aluminum plate to a rubber cylinder and then to the substrate to be printed. This method is extremely versatile and allows printing on rough and specialty papers. Offset printing can be performed with up to 6 colors with the option to add varnishes and UV treatments to enhance the brightness and durability of the printed material.
Screen Printing
Screen printing is a direct printing technique that uses a permeable frame to transfer ink to the substrate to be printed. This method allows for high-quality prints with a wide variety of effects, such as glitter, matte, and glossy finishes. Screen printing is particularly suitable for large-format prints and can be combined with UV treatments to enhance
Hot Stamping
Hot stamping is an embellishment technique that uses heat to apply metallization or special effects to printed materials. This method is often used to add aesthetic value to products, such as cold gold or silver foils, and can be combined with other printing techniques to achieve unique, high-quality effects.
